DIY: Marbling Magic

ree

A few years ago when I was in college, I had watched a video of girls marbling their nails with nail polish. Back then I wasn't really keen on trying it out. However, now while I was thinking of repurposing few items lying in the kitchen I was reminded of that very nail marbling video. I decided to experiment with the technique.

I repurposed a coconut milk tin can, an unused old glass, and a terracotta planter and a pebble.

Let's get started with the terracotta planter.

Things you will need

Products you want to repurpose, I painted them with chalk paint to have a matte base.

You would need a container with lukewarm water. The temperature of the water is important to keep in mind as the nail polish tends to dry out or can become wrinkly and thick.

Pour some nail polish in water. Choose the nail polish of your choice. I used only 2 of them. You can add a variety of color pop to your marbling effect.

Use a stick or toothpick to swirl or drag the polish on the surface of the water. Play with the patterns to get the desired design of your choice.

Now dip the surface of the product in water to create the marble effect!

I tried full surface marble effect for the glass where I used 2 nail polish, half and half for the terracotta planter and the tin.

As a pro tip, you can also pour sparkles or use a sparkle nail polish to add little glam to your products.

So don't throw away your nail paints, marble anything with them. There's no wrong or right it's just the marble way!

I feel it gives a magical and fresh feel to anything! You may need to attempt it a few times before you get it absolutely right.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and this DIY is super easy and you should try it!

XOXO
